WHAT
ARE WE ?
Leeds Messianic Fellowship is a place where Jewish and
Gentile followers of Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus) meet to worship and proclaim
Him as Adon (Lord). This is done in a Jewish cultural context. Yeshua
is our central focus, but we recognise that He was and is and forever
shall be a Jewish man.
ETHOS
We believe that, until we reground our
faith on the original cultural ground from which it sprung, we shall forever
be out of focus in our faith.
LMF wants to highlight the truth
that Christianity is Jewish and encourage church leaders to take a stand
against anti-Semitism. LMF is not party political; we are for both Jews
and Arabs.
WHAT
IS MESSIANIC ?
Messianic comes from the Hebrew Mashiach (Messiah) and Christian comes
from the Greek christos (Christ). In terms of meaning and emphasis "Messianic
Jew" refers to Jewish disciples of Yeshua who want to serve their
Messiah as Jewish people, rather than being 'ethnically cleansed'
by ignorance.
WHAT
IS FELLOWSHIP ?
LMF provides a home for Messianic Jews. We encourage those who attend
to "keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Ephesians
4:3. LMF seeks to complement not compete the wider body of Messiah in
Leeds.
